I understand there are loads of academics here... out of interest, I'm wondering what you chaps think are the hottest research areas in business model innovations?

I'm putting my bet on performance management using BMC as an analysis tool... what do you think?

Laurence, performance management sounds interesting. You might want to put it into the larger context of managing business model portfolios. Typically, a large corporation will have more than one business model and will be experimenting with more than one new business model.

Hmm... Alex, my line of reasoning is... if you can establish a system of performance indicators (PI) whether financial or not, you can use it as a platform for a simulation or decision making tool...

I suppose large corporation managing multiple business models can employ this in portfolio theory... add "diversification" to manage risk... thanks Alex...
