... where visionaries, game changers, and challengers discuss business models
Hello everyone,
A few weeks ago, I searched for a free online tool to build a business model canvas but I didn't find any on my first search, so I decided to build my own, and I just wanted to share it with you. http://businessmodelcanvas.herokuapp.com
Currently, I'm hosting it on Heroku but I'm planning to buy a domain and move it to another dedicated server. The boards now are public, which means anyone can edit the canvas, I'm working on adding the private canvas feature, push notifications (when a user adds a card it appears directly on the other user's board when sharing the same board) and some other cool features. Please, stay tuned. If you've any comments or feedback please drop me a message and sure I'll check it and respond.

I've supposed that you were talking to Carlos Cossio instead myself. Because of I am spanish so my LatAm spanish is poor.

Great job! It's so easy to use, very helpful. So thank you for creating it.
One question...
A lot of people tend to guard their business ideas very closely so others can't 'steal' or 'copy' them. I would love to have the confidence that no-one will have access to my business model (including yourself, except for administration). Is there any way you could re-assure me (and others) that it is really private? Perhaps putting a statement on the site might help.
Many thanks
Prash

Thanks for reaching out, I'm happy for that :-).
Regarding the privacy policy, we're going to add it to the site in our next release which will be very soon. For now, you can test that no one can show your canvas by copying and pasting the canvas url into another web browser that you're not logged in; it should not view your canvas as long as the canvas privacy is set to "private". Only the members of the private canvas can view it.
Regarding myself, as an admin I can view some stats of the site such as the number of registered users, the total number of boards, total number of cards ... etc. To be honest, I won't view any of the private boards data ever as long as the user didn't ask me to if problems occurred. This case happened a few months when one of the users found a problem that I couldn't reproduce locally on my development machine and I asked her to access her canvas and she sent me an invitation to her canvas to be able to check it out. I hope this makes you satisfied and please let me know if you've any comments.
Thanks!

That's great! Thanks for the prompt response and re-assurance of privacy, so we can all build our business models with confidence. ;-)
Cheers

Permalink Reply by Victor Antofica on November 20, 2012 at 11:49pm wow, your website looks great. If I would've seen your site earlier probably I wouldn't have created CanvasBM.com
I am curios how many visitors per day do you have?
