The last few months I have worked intensively with Business Model Innovation and its application in Marketing for my thesis. I came across an interesting theory that bears great similarity with some of the Business model patterns in the BMG book. Professor Cialdini established the 6 principles of Influence as such, Reciprocity, Commitment, Social Proof, Liking, Authority, Scarcity. I see that the Business model patterns go into this as much as saying that the FREE business model pattern, seeming similar as Reciprocity, is an acknowledged part of strategy forming.

I am very interested to learn to integrate the principles in the patterns, or the ideation process. If you have an insight, please let me know.
