... where visionaries, game changers, and challengers discuss business models
Does anyone have a suggestion as to how best to achieve a critical mass of participants in a multi-sided platform? It strikes me that there is a level of synchonization required. Does everyone jump in the ring together? Does anyone have any experience on this matter?

Just for share experience... I´m in a start-up design process based on a multi-sided biz model, and indeed one of the critical point (even... the most critical to success) is to design the synchronization among many different customer segments. Basically I the more I attract one of the segments more the other segment will be interested in participate..and both would require permanent communication and information update.
So far, I have identified the necessity of breakdown some of this maintenance activities, and even done some sub-biz models canvas treating this activities as "internal services". By doing this I´ve found things that can be outsourced and some other where CANVAS helped me to re-define internal path just focusing on resource optimization.
Glad to continue the discussion with more detail if you wish.
