I am looking forward to develop a working holistic business model innovation for nurturing young ecopreneur for my country. Currently, statistics report had shown that we had a low number of entrepreneur. The idea of using BMC is quite triggering. I am exploring it for my PhD research. There has been a lot of discussions lately, both within this community and around the world, on the importance of integrating multiple approaches into, what you have termed, holistic business innovation.
The business model, and the use of the BM Generation (canvas) approach, is only one portion of that 'integrated' view.
Steve Blank, author of the Customer Development Model, is a big proponent of, what he terms, the Startup Stack. This approach integrates 3 views into a cohesive approach to entrepreneurship. ALex Osterwalder's BM Generation, Steve Blank's Customer Development Model, And Eric Ries' (and others) Lean Startup.
