This is how we play the Business Model Innovation Game

Posted on June 11, 2013 at 6:08pm 0 Comments

The core team of Business Model Generation (Alex, Yves, Alan, Pat & Tim) disrupted the business model of publishing by self-publishing and crowdfunding. I remember very well the discussion I had with Alex at the University in Lausanne back in October 2009 when we discussed our way of working together on the book. Alex did not want to run a consultancy company. But I wanted to. In a different way! I believed – and still believe the business…

10 misunderstandings of setting up your venture

Posted on March 4, 2013 at 6:10pm 1 Comment

So many people talk about setting up their business nowadays. How come some still talk about it and never make it work? How come some make it work but fail in 2 years time? Maybe the reason is in the fact that it is not so easy. I put some misunderstandings together about setting up your venture. I came to these findings through the first 2 programs in 2012 of “Start in 60 Days…”

1. You are the only one…

Everything is already invented, only not by you!. In nowadays…

Overview of DJ business models

Posted on July 31, 2011 at 3:25pm 0 Comments

For years now I am traveling to Ibiza in summer. The beautiful white Island is a great source of inspiration. Beaches, haciendas, restaurants and clubs. Unbelievable to see that such small island hosts so many clubs that are open every single day with great DJ's. Unbelievable because prices of tickets start from 40 euros up to 80 euros and prices of drinks start from 10 euros not to mention the VIP arrangements where people pay up to 30.000 euros for a table. How do they make that work in…

Authors meet Designers in Lausanne

Posted on April 28, 2009 at 10:01am 1 Comment

Hi all,

This morning Alex and I picked up Alan Smith and Mike Overdijk at the hotel at the lake. Unfortunately it is raining... Well, that makes us working. Nobody slept very well last night. I guess because it will be a busy and exciting day. A lot to do.

Finally we have the whole team together today! As Alan is based in London, Yves and Alex in Lausanne and Mike and myself in Amsterdam it is not easy to meet up. And everyone has a busy schedule as well... Writing,… Continue
