Profile Information

Why are you passionate about business models and business model innovation?
I am a technology innovator and entrepreneur who is looking at new ways of developing business opportunities in this age of high uncertainty and fast changes. Business planning is no longer feasible and reasonable for startups. We really need to change perspective and think about applying agile business development methodologies.
How would you best describe your level of expertise when it comes to business models?
knowledgeable
What's your URL?

Who do you work for? What do you do?
I am now experimenting a new approach to coaching startups and SMEs for technology and customer developments based on Lean Startup and BMG.
What industry do you mainly work in (e.g. financial services, telco, utilities, public sector, academia, pharma...)?
ICT, academia, services.
What is the size of the organization you work for?
freelance/independant
Do you want to add anything? Feel free. Any topic.
My feeling is that startups and SMEs would only trust those who have done successful business in the past. These coaches (typically consultants for incubators) are bound to traditional view of business development, namely: 3-5 years planning and execution. This might have worked in the past, but it is no longer a viable solution nowadays. Besides, people like me with an experience in scientific research have a different approach, which can be more successful in an unstable economic environment where financial resources are scarce and risk of failure is very high. This is somewhat similar to what researcher face everyday and nonetheless they are capable of inventing breakthrough technologies. Why don't trust us even if we did not build a multi-million business in the '80?
