I just browsed through the member list and I found 8 women out of 225 members! That's 3,56 %.
The first thing that naturally comes to mind is: Why? Why are "only" men interested in this kind of project? Is it also true that only men are interested in business model innovation? I would suggest that it is so based on my rigorous academic research...
Why? I can't speak for all countries, but in Sweden we don't have a big gender problem anymore. It's there, and it's ugly when…

Dearfellow Business Model Hubbers,
I'd like to share my intentions for collaboration and a little background on myself with you all!!
Why I'm interested
I see an incredible design opportunity here. We've all heard of many design relationships that degrade to "I think people would like this..." with clients/designers guessing at what people would really like. It's a he-said-she-said situation. Here, we've got a group of intelligent people to not only give a…

Eh, I'm back after some days off the hub.
I was reading dozens of business-plans in the last few days while preparing the next incubator selection jury and thinking that a certain quantity of those projects actually needed a stronger business model. And I was also thinking about the part of hazard and luck in innovation from an entrepreneur point of view.
And that idea went on and went on to the point I imagined something funny: if you really want to be creative with your…

Today, Alex, Alan (The Movement) and myself got together for our first session about the design and production of the book. Exciting that we are working on this with Alan who is bringing the right competences in. At the very moment we are exploring the various design possibilities based on research Alex did in the market and the bookshops. What is a nice design? What is not? What do I like? What I don't? Alan is guiding us through the process... We wanted to share this with you "live" on the…

I just found this interesting article on possible new business models for newspaper publishers to consider. I thought it might spark some discussion here. Maybe we can use the canvas to map alternative models?

Along with my incubator activity, I have an evangelization mission towards students in their first graduation years. The public is not that aware of all entrepreneurial things and my purpose to them is:
- give them the sensation that, yes, even at the age of 20, 21 or 22, you can create your own firm (this is not that normal yet in France, eh!)
- make them understand that the only thing you can do after the "eurêka" moment is to speak about your idea to the most people you can as to…

Hello everybody! I want to share some of the work I did using the template, and have your feedback, insights and advice on how to do best next time :)
My day job consists on running the HEC Business School Incubator, in Paris. Part of it drives me to spend many time with young entrepreneurs, thinking on their projects and specifically on the business model building.
I organized a seminar this week-end with the last 5 startups that entered the incubator earlier in November.…

Hi,
Just read the first part, looks very promising. Lay-out and structure are fine. Especially liked the Apple example. Hope more such cases will be discussed. Kindest regards, Bart.

I created a mindmap of the book structure with
Mindmeister, as suggested. I'm still experimenting with using and sharing this mindmapping tool... so forgive me if it doesn't work 100% yet. Since I can't post the mindmap in this blog I added it to the "
Book Chunks Section". Have a look!
I'm also experimenting with…
